Hello Dear Readers

Note from Zoe
Active Image Rob and I had a lovely visit to Ardlethan to visit friends Megs and Phil and new baby Maya (very cute). Ardlethan is a tiny rural town three hours east of Canberra (population sign says 500, but many suspect it is far fewer than this). It is a region of long flat land and dusty paddocks aching for rain, though things hadve gone green with last weekend’s welcome rain. There is something about huge open skies and vast panoramic vistas that lifts the spirits and expands perspective. You can see some more photos on my blog.

This week’s article is inspired by my husband Rob. He has an uncanny ability to reduce things to the smallest possible denominator in a blaze of astounding simplicity. This is why I call him the Simplicity Coach (as well as sweetie pie).

The main article: Law of Attraction and illness

I caught a cold this weekend. Friday afternoon the sneezes started followed swiftly by a dripping nose and sore throat. Great. Just what I needed for a weekend away with friends and their new baby.

I was irritated with myself.
I have not been sick in nearly a year and this was always an excellent sign I had triumphed over cancer, stress, and mis-managing my health. So here I was, getting sick.

What did I do wrong? Have I been that stressed? Have my emotional vibrations been that forlorn to allow a virus to take hold? What was I doing to myself? Was I going backwards? It was a stark reminder of the days pre-cancer when I was chronically stressed and perpetually ill. I firmly believed, and still do, that excessive stress was a contributor to getting cancer. So was I back on the road to getting cancer?

Can you see where the thought pattern was leading me? It was all about not doing things right, about ‘failing’, about not living up to my own expectations about my health and its management.  Not a great train of thought; in fact it was a train smash of negativity.

Then I had a bummer day on Monday. I felt miserable. Blowing my nose every few minutes. Lethargic and woozy. I even felt like throwing in the towel on my business (shock horror! Give up my passion?! I must have been out of sorts). I couldn’t get anything done and everything felt like a huge effort.

I sat in a puddle of self-pity and self-criticism dwelling on my failings. I asked Rob, “have I really been that stressed out? What have I been doing wrong?” Rob gave me The Look, and said, “Sometimes you just get a virus. That’s what happens occasionally when people get sick.”

This hit me like a ton of bricks. Of course! How was I really supposed to know why I got a cold? Maybe I attracted it in to my life with poor vibrations, or maybe I just caught a virus. One thing was for sure, I felt even worse while I beat myself up over it.

Letting go of trying to figure out the ‘why’ of my illness was a huge relief. Suddenly I did not have to be responsible for the event of the cold. It was certainly in my life; I may or may not have attracted it unwittingly through worry or stress or some other less-than-good vibration, but the fact remained, I had a cold. Why make it worse by blaming myself?

That night I felt much better. I did not feel so drained. I did not sneeze so much. This morning I am almost as good as new and feel the excitement and vigour for my work flowing through me again.

The fact remains that we can’t know for sure WHY things happen:
why babies die, why people get cancer, why people kill each other. The Law of Attraction offers some explanation for it, but in the end the truth of it all may be beyond our limited perception and understanding as mere mortals. There are greater things at work. I cannot know for sure how one person thinks or feels about something. I cannot even know definitively what happens in my own body that creates health or disease, or even allows things like a baby to be created from two blots of cells. These are functions beyond our limited consciousness.

Rather than ponder and obsess over the ‘why’ of things, it is far better to accept things as they are without fighting or resisting or trying to fix them. It does not mean I do not wish for good health, or accept a death sentence if I am diagnosed with cancer; it is all about finding peace within, and allowing the body to heal itself without the emotional stress of having to understand the process.

So I am dropping the ‘why’ and embracing ‘what now’? Life is not about what happens to you, but about how you feel about what happens to you. And I for one choose feelin’ groovy.

Interview with Shawn Casey on the Law of Attraction
Shawn Casey is apparently known as 'old man Casey' on the internet marketing scene. This two-hour interview and transcript is a pretty decent introduction to the Law of Attraction and how to manifest your desires actively. Shawn Casey has a hard-nosed, straight-down-the-line style. Aside from that, it is pretty good value at $7.

Book Review: Wealth Beyond Reason program

I bought Bob Doyle's book some time ago and loved it. He also has an in-depth on-line, multi-media program that is comprehensive. It includes audio recordings of different wealth manifestation and law of attraction principles, ebooks from various law of attraction teachers like Joe Vitale and David Cameron Gikandi, and even some wealth meditations that you can download. It also has a fairly active on-line forum and community. It is everything I pictured for the Money Mojo Mastermind and then some. Bob really has done a terrific job and I am thrilled I finally bought the program. It is a staple in my wealth manifestation practise.

I am sure you will love it too. Check it out here .

Laser Thoughts

"Look to this day, for it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course lie all the varieties and realities of your existence, the bliss of growth, the glory of action, the splendour of beauty. For yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision, but today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day, such is the salutation of the dawn." The Sufi,1200 BC

"You may be cold, you may be tired, but being miserable is definitely an option." Anonymous

"I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing." Agatha Christie
